5 SNACKS FOR BUSY WORKDAYS

ENERGY BITES

We have a lot of energy + snack bit recipes on the HGG Blog such as these Lemon Chia Energy Bites or these Cashew Cacao Bites or these Matcha Hemp Energy Bites or these Turmeric Ginger Energy Bites!

APPLE AND NUT BUTTER

Apples contains natural sugars for a boost of energy as well as fiber to help you feel full longer. Pair an apple with a nut butter such as peanut butter, almond butter or cashew butter for a protein, healthy fats and fiber.

DIY TRAIL-MIX

I make my own trail-mix every week with a mix of nuts, seeds, dried fruit and sometimes dark chocolate chips. It’s a great a balance of protein, fiber, fat & carbohydrates. Plus making your own trail-mix is a great way to avoid added sugar, oils or sodium from a store-bought option.

VEGGIES, HUMMUS & CRACKERS

This simple but delicious combination will nourish your body with fiber, protein and antioxidants. Hummus is made from garbanzo beans and so it’s great plant-based dip with a bit of protein.

PROTEIN BARS

We all get busy and so it may not be realistic for you to make your own energy bites or bars some weeks. There are a lot of great options available for store-bought bars. When selecting a store-bought bar look for one that is high in protein, low in sugar and made with natural real ingredients you recognized. Avoid bars that contain high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors or flavoring. This is one one my favorite plant-based protein bars.
