Have you ever been in the mood for dessert, however you didn’t feel like cooking or baking? Apple cupcakes are the perfect sweet treat on this occasion! Today on the Healthy Grocery Girl Show I share how to make this simple recipe. It’s a “Grocery Made Meal” or Grocery Made Snack rather, that is sure to be a favorite for kids and adults. Although I classify this recipe as a dessert, it is also a great afternoon or morning snack!
Makes one serving
1 green apple (or apple of choice)
2 tablespoons almond butter (or nut butter of choice)
1-2 tablespoons walnuts (or nut of choice)
1-2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips (*optional)
Wash and cut the apple in half. Slightly core out the seeds. The apple should maintain a flat surface so be careful to not core out too much of the apple center. Spread almond butter on the flat apple surface, sprinkle with nuts and chocolate chips and enjoy!
Get Creative! You can also use dried fruit, fresh fruit, shredded coconut flakes, cacao nibs, and various nuts as the “sprinkles”!
