Postpartum is commonly referred to as the first 6 weeks after childbirth. Another theory (which I love) is the 4th trimester, lasting 3 months after childbirth. Another theory (which I love even more, and was suggested to me by my doctor), is that postpartum can be AS LONG as you need it to be. 

While some cultures celebrate “lying in” or “bed rest” after birth… our culture seems to praise women who are “back at it” and “get their body back” within record time. The pressure after birth to not only care for your new baby, care for yourself, your partner, your family, your home… it can be overwhelming, to say the least. 

Did you know that the World Health Organization (WHO) describes the postnatal period as the most critical and yet the most neglected phase in the lives of mothers and babies. This needs to change! 

Having a baby is one of the biggest highlights in a parent’s life. It can also be one of the most challenging times.

It’s common for the majority of the attention to be about the baby after birth, babies are just so cute! When a baby is born two births take place, the baby and a mother. It is the birth of a first time mom, the birth of a mom to now two children, the birth of a mom to now three children, and so on. 

The physical, emotional and mental state of a mother postpartum can be greatly affected positively or negatively by… support. Help with meals, help with cleaning, listening without trying to solve the problem or give advice, rather just listening to her tell her birth story, share her feelings, verbal praise such as “you’re doing a great job mama!” and so much more. 

When I became a mom for the first time I was shocked by how hard motherhood really is. I realized I needed a lot more support and help than I had planned for. 

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and mom I have combined my expertise and my empathy for moms during their postnatal journey to create the Healthy Grocery Girl Postpartum Nutrition Plan. When is the best time to purchase this plan?

This plan is perfect for mamas who are pregnant, postpartum or even if your baby is 15 years old! The recipes are designed to be simple and nourishing, perfect for all seasons of life. However, I do include nutrition tips and recipes with ingredients that specifically support new mamas. 

Ideally I would say this plan is best to purchase when you are pregnant! Once baby comes there will be less time to read and meal prep. Purchase this plan now to meal prep and freeze meals and you’ve won half the battle of nourishing yourself postpartum!

Is this plan only for new moms?
While the nutrition tips and recipe ingredients are designed to support new moms, you can enjoy this content in any season of life. This plan includes recipes the whole family can enjoy whether you’re pregnant, just had a baby or your baby is 20 years old! 

Is this refundable?

Due to the nature of this plan being a digital download, all sales are final.

Are these recipes vegan?

All of the recipes are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and predominately plant-based. Some of our recipes call for eggs and therefore some recipes are not vegan. However, we provide egg alternatives so that every recipe can be made vegan.

Will this plan benefit me if I’m not breastfeeding?

Absolutely! The primary goal of this Nutrition Plan is designed to nourish moms. If you are breastfeeding we offer tips and recipes that may support milk production.
