Hey GoingVeggy! That’s fantastic that you no longer have high cholesterol and are hoping to be off HBP medication soon as well! Real food is so wonderful for healing and helping our body function it’s best naturally! I can definitely relate to all the comments, opinions etc about choosing a plant-based dietary lifestyle. It’s sad that eating mostly real, whole foods is not the norm! Sometimes I recommend people watch Forks Over Knives or Food Inc. as great documentaries providing insight into our food system and how food affects our body. Usually once people watch those they really start to get it! 🙂 The truth is, you can live a healthy life on a vegan or vegetarian diet when done correctly which of course you know! 🙂 I’m always here to chat or if you have any questions!! 🙂 xx Megan
Hey everyone!! Here is my fitness log for this week!
Jan. 19th: 45 hour walk outside with my husband / 20 minutes of stretching & pilates
Jan. 20th: 1 hour walk outside with my husband
Jan. 21st: 1 hour walk outside with my husband
Jan. 22nd: 1 mile jog on the treadmill
Since my husband and I worked for ourselves (HGG!! xo) we like to go on walks to take a computer break and also it’s a good time to chat business and work (not sitting at our desks).
I hope everyone had a wonderful week and start to their weekend!! xx Megan
Hi Casey! Welcome to HGG! First of all congratulations on your health changes and losing 100 pounds!! As far as friends go, you’ve definitely found a friend with me and I’m sure you’ll connect with many more HGG members who are all supportive of a plant-based and vegan diet! Also I definitely can relate to hormone issues. I struggled with them myself for quite some time so if you have any questions you’d like to ask me I’m happy to discuss it and answer what I can! As an Registered Dietitian, I have yet to have a health conversation that felt like TMI… trust me ha 😉 You gotta go there to get to the root of the issues so they can be solved! Anyways, just know I’m here to chat and answer your questions 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! xx Megan

January 16th: Today my husband I went for a walk, probably an hour! I love long walks 🙂 What did you do today to MOVE? 🙂
Hi! I also use to struggle with hormonal imbalances and for me personally cystic acne :/ It was really painful and embarrassing!! A plant-based diet definitely helped me improve my skin! I first noticed a big improvement when I eliminated dairy and then when I started eating more balanced, plant-based meals (and reducing my stress) that also really helped. Of course everyone is different but I do know that what we eat plays a HUGE role in our health and how our body and systems function and it’s just finding the right way of eating for you that helps you feel your best!!
Hi Jen!! Thank you! I definitely have intentions on posting those!! Thank you for letting me know that you’re interested! I’ll make that a priority to post those in the next few weeks!! 🙂
Hi Jennifer! Where do you typically grocery shop? I look for Organic Canned Coconut Milk and choose the regular (not light) canned coconut milk. You can find it in the ethnic / international grocery aisle. Here are some brands I buy!
Whole Foods 365
For the breakfast cookies, you can definitely liquify the coconut oil. I live in southern California which is typically pretty warm and so my coconut oil is also room temp and pretty much liquid 🙂
Hope that helps!! – M
Hi Melissa! Do you mean vegan meal plans? If so, we have them!

Let me know if that’s what you’re referring to! 🙂 Megan
Don’t you love when the weather gets warmer! I love taking a break from the gym and going on walks or jogs aside when it’s nicer too 🙂
Awesome GoingVeggy!! Love you do a mix of cardio and circuit training!
Amazing! It’s good to do what you can when you can! Every little bit adds up. It’s healthy just to move and be active! 🙂
That’s fantastic Cindy!! I love Yoga!
Walking is great! Progress is progress not matter how small!!
Hey Jennifer! New Seasons, Fred Meyers, Trader Joe’s.. all great place to shop! Glad you found a coconut milk at TJ’s! 🙂
Rest days are totally okay! One or two days off a week is totally fine and it’s good to listen to your body. Personally, I try to not take more than 2 days off consecutively. If I can’t get to the gym (or don’t want to) I definitely try and fit in at least a walk outside to do some movement 🙂
I definitely feel like cleaning is a workout sometimes ha!! I’m sure a fitness trainer would say it doesn’t count, but any movement consistently is good! Better than nothing I say!! 🙂
Hey Becky! Great! Glad you’re on board for the fitness accountability! I just created a new chat group under the Nourish Program forum called “Exercise Check-In” and shared what I did today! I thought creating a new group specifically for exercise check-ins would not only be helpful for us but other members as well!! Looking forward to keeping each other accountable! I hope you stay warm in the snow storm!!!
