Why are these chocolate hearts superior to most store-bought treats? This entire recipe only has 5 ingredients, all of which can be found in your fridge or pantry! They also have some incredible health benefits that I can’t wait to share with you below!

Health Benefits of Chocolate Heart Ingredients

Oranges

Oranges contain the phytonutrient carotenoids, which is found in most red, orange and yellow fruits and veggies! This antioxidant may be beneficial for immune health, lowering inflammation and preventing cardiovascular diseases.

Dates

Dates are a great source of fiber! Fiber is an important part of maintaining healthy digestion because it feeds your healthy guy bacteria and also adds bulk to your stool.

Pecans

Did you know that pecans contain healthy fats that can help lower your “bad” LDL cholesterol and raise your “good” HDL cholesterol? This may be beneficial for lowering your risk of coronary artery disease.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate contains minerals like copper, iron and zinc which promotes cell growth! This can be great for anti-aging and overall skin health.

Sea Salt

Sea salt does contain a small amount of trace minerals such as potassium, iron, calcium and magnesium. Also, sea salt is normally less processed than table salt!
